The Treasurer is responsible for the collection and distribution of all monies due the Township as well as the collection of both summer and winter taxes. Approximately 12,000 tax bills are mailed each year. This includes informational tax bills mailed to homeowners who have a mortgage escrow paying their tax bill.
Your Township Treasurer collects and distributes your property tax monies to the following entities:
- State of Michigan (State Education Tax)
- Oakland Community College
- Oakland Schools
- School Districts of Brandon, Clarkston, Holly
- Oakland County
- Springfield Township General Fund, Police, Fire, Library, Civic Center Bond
- Special Assessments
In Addition:
- Maintains accurate records for all monies received by the Township
- Invests surplus funds to meet cash flow needs of the Township
- Reconciles all Township bank accounts
- Billing and Collection of all Special Assessment monies
- Sell Oakland County dog licenses
- Collect and Distribute Mobile Home Fees
- Signs all Payroll and Accounts Payable Checks
- Serves as one of seven voting members on the Township Board of Trustees
