The following sections are found under Ordinance No. 42 of the Springfield Township Ordinances.
- Park Hours: 8:00 am to Dusk. (sec. 3.1)
- Parking is allowed only in designated areas. (sec. 6.2)
- Off-road vehicles, snowmobiles or motorcycles are prohibited. (sec. 6.4)
- Horseback riding is prohibited. SBP ONLY
- Open fires are prohibited except in designated barbecue grills. (sec. 3.8)
- Lawful hunting and trapping permitted in designated areas only. Trapping or skeet shooting is prohibited. (sec. 7.4 & 7.5) SBP ONLY

- Pets must be on a 6-foot leash and in your possession at all times. Please be courteous to others and clean up after your pets. (sec 8.2)

- Glass containers are prohibited. (sec. 4.2)

- Damaging, destroying or removing any wildlife from any of the parks is prohibited. (sec. 3.2)
- Possession of weapons by any nature other than hunting is prohibited. (sec. 7.5) SBP ONLY

- Business of a commercial nature by permission only. (sec. 3.3)
- Loud music, profanity, or loud abusive, and/or disorderly conduct is prohibited. (sec. 3.6)

- Swimming is prohibited except in designated areas at posted times. (sec. 4.6)
- When the gates are closed, the Park is closed and violators can/will be ticketed.
Violators can/will be reported to Sheriff’s Department. Please call Oakland County Department (248) 858-4950 to report violations of these rules.
Ordinance # 42 sec 10.1 provides for penalties up to 90 days in jail or $ 500.00 fine for violations of park rules.
A reward of $ 250.00 will be awarded to anyone who leads to the CONVICTION of any park vandal.

Section 9- Liability Insurance Requirements
- In the event the organization is an athletic league, a certificate of insurance indicating comprehensive general liability coverage of not less than $ 100,000.00 C.G.L. is required from all leagues. Certificates must be delivered to the Parks and Recreation Director or his/her designee prior to issuance of any permit under this Policy.
- The liability of Springfield Township Parks and Recreation for failure to honor an issued permit for use of the athletic fields in any park as a result of 1) an act of God; 2) condition of the facilities; 3) or other condition beyond the reasonable control of Springfield Township Parks and Recreation, shall be limited to:
- Providing a mutually satisfactory alternate date and/or time for the event or activity scheduled under the permit.
- Refund of any monies received by Parks and Recreation from the applicant/permit holder as a result of a specific permit.
- Liability waiver: Participants on teams must sign a hold “harmless liability waiver” indemnifying Springfield Township Parks and Recreation from any and all claims resulting from injuries, damages or losses sustained or associated with the use/program.
Section 10- Certification of Coaches
Priority consideration within category use groups will be given to those teams, leagues, associations and organizations whose coaches have completed an approved certification course in their field of involvement with emphasis upon good sportsmanship, ethics and good conduct.
Section 11- Amendments
Amendments to this policy shall be made on the recommendation from the Parks & Recreation Director and/or the Springfield Township Park Commission.
