Oakland County Parks will conduct a prescribed burn at Springfield Oaks Golf Course this spring. The burns will occur at an 11 acre woodlot northeast of the clubhouse, a one acre wetland near hole six and a wetland between holes ten and eighteen. The burn will function to combat invasive species, and improve no mow zone and remnant wet-mesic prairie habitat for wildlife. The prescribed burn is safe, and done with the cooperation and approval of the local fire department. Minimal smoke will be produced. The burn is weather dependant and will occur on one to two days between late March and late April, generally between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. If you have questions or concerns that require you to be notified by phone the day of the burn, please contact Brittany Bird at 248-343-1353 or Tom Hughes, Park Supervisor, at 248-698-1788
