FIREWORKS ORDINANCE

Please be aware that Springfield Township has adopted to the Township's Code of Ordinances an article regarding the discharge of fireworks. Among other things, the ordinance restricts the discharge of consumer fireworks to:

  1. The day preceding, the day of, or the day after a national holiday
  2. Seven days preceding, the day of, or seven days after Independence Day

Any discharge of fireworks shall be in accordance with the Michigan Fireworks Safety Act, Public Act 256 of 2011, as amended.

Residents are reminded that garage sale signs can be posted for a maximum of three (3) consecutive days. Signs shall not exceed two square feet in area and four feet in height. Signs affixed to utility poles are not permitted. For additional information, call Greg Kazmierski, Ordinance Officer, at (248) 846-6509.
