Springfield Township Fire Department’s dedication to the community does not end with fire protection and medical response. Our fire prevention program is dedicated to children and seniors reaching the community centers and visiting every school in the Township. Check the web site and government channel regularly for updates on community education dates and times, senior fire prevention and household safety.
The past year has been great for our Fire Prevention Program. We have had contact with over 2000 children. This includes all of the schools in the township and also the 4-H fair. We have a newly remodeled Fire Safety House (smoke house). The Fire Safety House travels through out the township and to other special events. The Smoke House allows us to simulate a bedroom and a living room filling with smoke. We then teach the children and adults how to safely exit this kind of environment. The Fire Safety House has been a very effective tool in teaching fire safety. We are developing new programs for our seniors in the township including vials of life, cooking safety, fire proofing their house for grandchildren, and health checks. As we are looking forward to another great year, we also look forward to your support.
