Mission Statement
The purpose or mission of the Springfield Township Fire Department (STFD) is to provide a professional and cost-effective service to the community by providing training, equipment and qualified officers and personnel.
All personnel are encouraged to better themselves through education and training and to be a role model for other people in our department so they will be able to effectively save lives and property.

Burn Permits
Burn permits are required each time you burn in Springfield (with the exception of camp fires). Burn permits and associated rules can be obtained at Station #2 or by calling 248-625-6699 during business hours only. Click HERE to download the burn permit application.

Equipment
At our Station #1, we have a 1972 Jeep 4x4 with a 50-gallon water tank used for grass/wildland fires, a 1988 GMC 4x4 truck with a 30-gallon per minute (gpm) pump that holds 250 gallons of water (also used for grass fires), a 2002 Pierce rescue/pumper with a 1,250 gpm pump that holds 500 gallons of water (this unit also holds our rescue/extrication equipment), a 1993 KME engine with a 1,250 gpm pump that holds 1,000 gallons of water and a 2008 International tanker with a 1,000 gpm pump that holds 2,100 gallons of water.
At our station # 2 we have a 1988 GMC 4x4 pickup with a 250 gallon water tank used for grass/wildland fires, a 1999 International rescue/transport truck with our rescue/extrication/hazmat equipment, a 1997 KME engine that has a 1250 gpm pump and holds 1250 gallons of water, a 2001 pierce tanker/pumper with a 1250 gpm pump and holds 2500 gallons of water.
