Burn permits are required each time you burn in Springfield (with the exception of camp fires). Burn permits and associated rules can be obtained at Station #2 or by calling 248-625-6699 during business hours only. Click HERE to download a burn permit application.
The Springfield Township Fire Department is equipped to handle a wide range of fire, medical and other emergencies. Your Firefighters bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to bear on calls for help in Springfield Township. Cross-trained Firefighter/EMTs are also trained for a wide variety of specialized response including ice rescue, hazardous materials and technical rescue.
Responding from 2 fire stations, with the following fire apparatus:
Fire Station #1
Engine 1 - 1997 KME Engine with a 1250 gpm pump and carrying 1250 gallons of water.
Rescue 1 - 2002 Pierce Rescue/Pumper with a 1,250 gpm pump carrying 500 gallons of water, this unit also carries a variety of rescue and vehicle extrication equipment.
Tanker 1 - 2008 International tanker with a 1,000 gpm pump carrying 2,100 gallons of water.
Brush 1 and Brush 3 1998 - GMC 4x4 pickup with a 250 gallon water tank and a 1972 Jeep 4x4 with a 50-gallon water tank used for grass/wildland fires
Fire Station # 2
Engine 2 - 2000 Custom Cab Pierce with a 1,500 gpm pump carrying 750 gallons of water
Engine 3 - 1993 KME engine with a 1,250 gpm pump that carrying 1,000 gallons of water
Rescue 2 -1999 International Basic Life Support transporting unit
Tanker 2 - 2001 Pierce tanker/pumper with a 1250 gpm pump carrying 2,500 gallons of water
Brush 2 - 1998 GMC Mini Pumper used for grass/wildland fires and other special responses.
Car 2 - 2009 GMC Non-Transporting Basic Life Support unit.
