Water Quality

Water quality is very important to the residents, government and businesses of Springfield Township, for many reasons:

• Most property owners have individual water wells and depend on groundwater aquifers for their drinking water supply.
• As a headwaters community, we understand that our individual and collective actions can affect not only the quality of our lakes, creeks and wildlife habitat right here in Springfield, but also the quality of downstream resources as well.
• Federal Clean Water Act regulations now demand that all of us -- homeowners, businesses and government -- practice good stewardship by avoiding actions that will degrade our water resources.
